It's a training weekend for

those who would like to become kitted up with loads of innovative activities for delivering a music curriculum outdoors - without the need for musical instruments!!
people who want more nature connective team-building ideas
folks who want to help others connect with nature

The course will run from 9.30-4pm ish

Bring your children for free if you want to - but it might be handy to have a back up adult incase the children have other needs.

This is Nature Interpretation with bells on (and, didgeridoos, guitars and whistles and drums!!!) Natural Musicians is a trade mark of Chris Holland.

Playful Connective Education

Natural Musicians activities are now used by the Uk's National Parks Education Rangers team.

Explore new ways to encourage musicality in children AND adults.

Discover and learn to share the harmony, literacy, numeracy and science of Nature through fun music based activities.

NO need for musical instruments.

Really fun, insightful and full of brilliant useful ideas for seeing, listening and feeling into nature in original ways. Chris gave us lots of entry points to creating sounds using voice, the body and wood, stone and found objects. We made imaginary and real sound maps, played percussive games and made instruments. After two days I feel a great desire to try all these ideas out, especially the songwriting ideas, with the groups of older people that I work with as well as their children and grandchildren.

What is Trill on the Hill?

A place to explore the endless joy and possibility of nature. A rugged and plentiful natural landscape, made for learning, sharing and connecting. A plan to leave a more diverse and rich land than we found. A wild campsite made for campfire singsongs, muddy faces and belly laughs. A foundation for a range of organic skincare and craft products. A field for our flock of Gotland sheep to roam. A special place, undisturbed, an inheritance of secrets. A work in progress project. To find out more click here:

What's the plan?

The plan is to gather for a 9.30am start on the Sunday morning.

We have a lot to cover in a timeless way.

You can camp over the night before if you like - compost loos a bucket showers on site.

Teas and coffee and yummy snacks will be provided, but bring your own lunch.

There is a small flock of Gotland sheep on site and a few deer - so there are ticks around. Remember to dress accordingly.

We will finish by 5pm on Sunday afternoon.
